## Maronan Metals β the High-Grade Silver-Lead Lode
_Descriptive field note on the position β not investment advice, no price targets._
Maronan Metals is a silver-lead and copper-gold developer whose sole object is the Maronan deposit in north-west Queensland β about 65 km south of Cloncurry and 90 km north of Cannington, in the heart of the established Cloncurry mining belt. The company is a spin-out of ASX-listed Red Metal; Maronan is thus a focused single-asset vehicle for a deposit that previously sat embedded within an explorer's portfolio.
### Thesis
In the analytical frame for developers β grade and resource size, jurisdiction, the path to production cost, financeability, valuation per resource ounce β Maronan plays its two strongest cards: scale and grade in a Tier-1 jurisdiction. The resource comprises 121.9 million ounces of silver, 1.97 Mt of lead, 271 kt of copper and 760,000 ounces of gold β a polymetallic body in which the silver-lead leg carries the headline and copper-gold the depth. North-west Queensland is an established, legally secure mining belt β the jurisdiction risk that weighs on Peruvian or African peers largely falls away here.
The name has pure exploration status behind it: an MDL is granted and a PEA completed β and the most recent hole, MRN26002 (July 2026: 7.3 m @ 11.0% Pb + 89 g/t Ag), confirms the high-grade character. Grades of this order are what carry an underground development. The open flank in the frame is the production side: the cost base (AISC) and capital requirement only become concrete with feasibility β until then Maronan is a grade-and-scale case ahead of the cash-flow curve.
### Catalysts
- Further high-grade silver-lead drilling north of the Starter Zone.
- A resource upgrade off the back of ongoing drill results.
- Progress toward feasibility and underground access.
### Risks
- Development CapEx: the path from PEA stage to mine is capital-intensive.
- Cycle: the outcome is tied to the lead and silver price.
- Underground complexity: development is technically more demanding than an open pit.
